How to Play Space Invaders

Move along the bottom and destroy the formation before it reaches your position. Only one player shot can be active at a time, so time each attack and use the four shields while they still have cover left.

Controls

  • Use Left and Right or A and D to move.
  • Press Space to fire.
  • Use Move, Fire, and Pause buttons on mobile; Escape pauses keyboard play.

Scoring and Leaderboard

Lower large invaders score 10 points, middle invaders 20, and the smallest top invaders 30. The mystery ship awards 50 to 300 points in 50-point steps. Clearing the formation starts a new wave.

You can play without an account. Score submission asks only for player initials.

Space Invaders Tips

Keep an escape lane

Avoid staying pinned at an edge when enemy shots begin to overlap.

Shoot through openings

Use gaps in your shields so the remaining cover still absorbs enemy fire.

Track the lowest invaders

Prioritize enemies closest to your position before chasing distant targets.
