How to Play Asteroids
Rotate, use short thrusts, and fire at incoming asteroids and passing flying saucers. Shots inherit the ship’s drift, so a coasting shot follows the momentum you already established. Large rocks split into medium pieces and medium rocks into fast small fragments. Clear every fragment to start the next wave.
Controls
- Use Left and Right to rotate and Up or W to thrust.
- Press Space to fire; no more than four bullets can be active. Press H or Shift for hyperspace.
- On mobile, use Rotate, Thrust, Fire, Hyperspace, and Pause buttons. Press Escape to pause on a keyboard.
Scoring and Leaderboard
Large asteroids score 20 points, medium asteroids 50, and small fast fragments 100. Large flying saucers score 200 and small saucers score 1,000; both can appear after 10,000 points, and only the more accurate small saucer appears after 40,000. A run begins with three lives and awards another every 10,000 points.
You can play without an account. Score submission asks only for player initials.
Asteroids Tips
Use short thrusts
Small bursts keep the ship controllable and reduce the chance of drifting into a new hazard.
Clear nearby fragments
Small asteroids are easy to overlook and can close distance quickly.
Keep moving
A gentle, predictable drift is safer than waiting motionless for hazards to surround you.

- The large flying saucer is worth 200 points. After 10,000 points, its faster small replacement is worth 1,000.
